A choice of included excursions, from guided touring of Europe’s cultural treasures to e-bike rides along the river. Scenic recommends choosing your first few days before you sail.
Scenic Discovery Excursions
At sea, a Discovery Team leads Zodiac, kayak, and stand-up paddleboard outings to explore landscapes and wildlife.
Expedition Voyages
In Antarctica and the Arctic, a Discovery Team of up to 20 polar experts leads landings and Zodiac cruising, and you’ll receive a complimentary parka to keep.
Helicopter & Submersible
Optional flightseeing in one of two Airbus helicopters, or a dive aboard the Scenic Neptune submersible, at an additional cost and subject to conditions and local rules.
Scenic Enrich
Designed exclusively for Scenic guests, Scenic Enrich events open the doors of historic castles, palaces, and châteaux, with private concerts and gourmet evenings. On select Central Europe cruises, that means an evening of Strauss and Mozart at Palais Liechtenstein in Vienna, with a glass of Austrian Sekt.

Reserving Your Cruise
Deposit & Final Payment
A deposit is due at the time of booking to secure your suite and fare, and the balance is due by the final payment date on your invoice. Amounts and dates vary for river, ocean, and expedition voyages and by promotion, and I’ll confirm both in writing before you commit.
Reservations are confirmed once your deposit is received
Payments must arrive by the due dates on your invoice
Flights, hotels, and extensions booked through Scenic carry their own terms
Flexible Booking Plan
For added peace of mind, Scenic’s optional Flexible Booking Plan lets you defer your booking or cancel for any reason up to 90 days before departure. Your deposit, less any third-party fees, becomes a Future Travel Credit valid for 24 months. The plan fee is nonrefundable, and the plan isn’t available on every itinerary.
Penalty Relief Program
A second option, available only at the time of booking. If you cancel 15 or more days before travel, it offers a refund for covered reasons, such as an illness confirmed by a doctor, or a Future Travel Credit for other reasons, with the amount depending on how close to departure you cancel. It is not travel insurance.
Plan fees, terms, and eligibility are set by Scenic: Scenic Booking Policies. I’ll help you decide whether either plan makes sense for your trip.

Unless otherwise listed, all pricing is per person, based on double occupancy, specific to the suite category quoted, and subject to availability at the time of booking.
Pricing Terms
Because Scenic sails limited-inventory small ships and Discovery Yachts, prices and availability can change without notice. By booking, you agree to the supplier’s terms, available on its website.
Supplemental Charges
Cruise lines reserve the right to add surcharges for items such as fuel increases, port fees, or government requirements. Additional fees may apply from Avoya Travel or the cruise line if a cancellation occurs.

This is one of the simplest parts of planning a Scenic journey. All tipping and gratuities are included in your fare, onboard and onshore, so there’s nothing to calculate for the crew, your butler, or your local guides.

Onboard Purchases
Extras such as spa treatments are charged in euros aboard the Europe Space-Ships and in U.S. dollars aboard Scenic Spirit and the Discovery Yachts, payable by Visa or Mastercard. American Express is not accepted.
Pre- and Post-Cruise Extensions
Hotel stays and touring on land can follow different practices. I’ll share the details as we plan.

In the weeks before departure, you’ll prepare with a few simple steps, and the Scenic App keeps everything close at hand:
Choose your first few days of Scenic Freechoice excursions
Check in online through the Scenic App, from 7 days before departure
Review your final e-documents, sent about two to three weeks before departure
Onboard, use the app for your daily program, ship maps, and dining venues
Expedition guests choose their parka and boot sizes in advance. I’ll let you know when each step opens.

Passports & Paperwork
Travel Documents & Entry Requirements
It is each traveler’s responsibility to carry proper documentation. Here’s what to have in order before you go.
Proof of Citizenship
A valid passport, valid at least 6 months beyond your return date
Visas where required
Green cards or other immigration documents, as applicable
Authorization documentation when traveling with minors
Names on reservations must match your passport exactly.
REAL ID
Since May 2025, U.S. travelers need a REAL ID-compliant license or other accepted ID, such as a passport, for domestic flights and certain federal facilities.
Travel Visas
Mekong journeys in Vietnam and Cambodia, and some ocean and expedition voyages, may require visas and several blank passport pages. Verify requirements through CIBTvisas, and I’ll confirm exactly what your itinerary needs.
ETIAS (Europe)
Europe’s new travel authorization for U.S. visitors is not yet in effect, and no launch date has been announced. I’ll let you know if it applies to your trip.
UK ETA
An Electronic Travel Authorisation is required for entry to the United Kingdom.
EU Entry/Exit System
Europe’s border system now registers non-EU visitors with fingerprints and a photo, so allow a little extra time at passport control on your first entry.

I strongly recommend reviewing travel advisories and health guidance before your trip so you’re fully prepared.
A few things that are helpful to know before you sail.
Flexibility on the Water
Good to Know on the Water
Whether you’re on a river or at sea, nature occasionally has its own plans. Scenic handles these moments smoothly, and a little flexibility goes a long way.
High or Low Water
On the rivers, water levels can affect docking locations, require a ship swap, or modify shore excursions.
Tethering, or “Double Docking”
In some river ports, ships may temporarily tie together side by side, and your view may be obstructed until the ships separate.
Weather & Ice at Sea
On ocean and expedition voyages, landings, Zodiac outings, and helicopter flights depend on weather, sea, and ice conditions, and the Captain and Discovery Team adapt each day.
Travel Subject to Change
All travel is subject to schedule adjustments, itinerary changes, work stoppages, weather disruptions, and operational delays.
Luggage
Scenic allows one suitcase per guest, up to 23 kg (about 50 lb). Airlines and land journeys may set their own limits.
Your Travel Documents
Final e-documents arrive about two to three weeks before departure. I’ll let you know as soon as they’re ready.
